Nanjing Leerway Rail Transit Technology Industrial Base Project

2026-10-27

To meet the growing demand for infrastructure construction of Nanjing urban rail transit, Leerway started the construction of its local production base in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area in 2019. The whole project consists of steel structure workshops.

Our company supplied all secondary steel purlins, roof and wall enclosure systems as well as matching fasteners, with a total weight of approximately 350 tons. For the structural sections, the roof adopts Q355B + Z275 high-strength, high-zinc coating Z-section steel, profile Z220×78×20×2.5, while the wall adopts Q355B + Z275 high-strength, high-zinc coating C-section steel, profile C200×75×20×2.5. All components are fully processed in the factory, including cutting, forming and drilling. Only bolted connection is required on site, which effectively shortens the installation period.

The roof system features a build-up of outer sheet, waterproofing layer, insulation layer (with secondary purlin connectors) and inner liner sheet. The outer sheet is a concealed-fix, mechanically seamed color steel sheet with no exposed fasteners, profile YX66-470, made of a Shanghai Baosteel 0.6 mm Al-Zn coated substrate color-coated steel sheet. The waterproofing layer is a 0.5 mm waterproof breathable membrane, and the insulation layer is 100 mm thick rock wool insulation boards. The inner liner sheet is a Shanghai Baosteel 0.5 mm galvanized substrate color-coated steel sheet, profile YX15-225-900. The secondary purlin connectors between the inner liner and the outer sheet combine 50 mm high omega-shaped steel sections with 50 mm high Z-section secondary purlins, firmly connecting the main structure, the inner liner sheet and the outer sheet as an integral whole.

The roof and wall sheets, together with the insulation and waterproofing layers, form a complete enclosure system. Joints are treated with self-tapping screws and sealant for double protection, ensuring the air tightness and waterproof performance of the workshop meet operational requirements.

Installation mobilization commenced in March 2019, and the construction of the entire enclosure system was completed in August the same year, taking about five months.
